कविता संग्रह प्रकाशित होने के बाद डॉ. ललितसिंह की दूसरी पुस्‍तक का नाम है ‘’आत्‍माएँ बोल सकती हैं‘’ । यह एक कहानी संग्रह है, पुस्‍तक के नाम से ऐसा लगता है जैसे किसी ‘भूतहा दुनिया’ में ले जाने वाली कोई किताब। मगर, ऐसा नहीं है, इस पुस्‍तक में 14 कहानियों को समेटा गया है, कहानियाँ जो हमारे आस-पास के संसार को बुनती है। डॉ. मुंशी प्रेमचंद्र की कहानियों के चर्चित होने का मुख्‍य कारण था उनकी कहानियाँ तत्‍कालीन सामाजिक परिवेश से जुड़ी होती थीं और कहानियों के पात्र भी समाज के प्रतिबिंब होते थे। ‘’आत्‍माएँ बोल सकती हैं‘’ पुस्‍तक की सभी कहानियाँ आज के समय में समाज का आइना दिखाती हैं। इन कहानियों के पात्र वे लोग हैं जो हमारे आस-पास रहते हैं। पाठक, कहानियों के साथ अपना तादात्‍मय पाते हैं।
पुस्‍तक हाथ में आते ही सबसे पहले दिमाग में प्रश्‍न आया कि पुस्‍तक का नाम‘’आत्‍माएँ बोल सकती हैं‘’ क्‍यों रखा गया है? शायद पाठकों को आकर्षित करने लिए....! लेकिन सभी कहानियों को पढ़ने के बाद पता चलता है कि लेखक अपने पात्रों को एक आत्‍मा मानकर चलता है जो प्रत्‍येक कहानी में अपने अनुभवों को पाठकों के साथ साझा करती दिखायी पड़ती हैं। इसलिए पुस्‍तक का नाम  ‘’आत्‍माएँ बोल सकती हैं‘’ सार्थक प्रतीत होता है।
